We are happy to customize our fee arrangements for each client. Typically, we provide a limit beyond which we will not charge without obtaining the client's permission. We can often agree to a monthly retainer which will cover all legal services performed each month. Occasionally, we can quote fixed maximum fees, although the variety of issues which arise in almost every assignment often precludes that approach.

Unlike other law firms, Louis E. Black, Esq. does not charge for routine disbursements such as telephone, faxes, copying, etc. Instead we ask that clients reimburse us only for extraordinary charges such as printing of closing binders, courier and messenger services, foreign telephone charges, filing fees and the like. In order to minimize such charges, this firm uses, to the extent practicable, e-mail communications.

Lawyers' rates are substantially lower than other New York City firms doing similar work.
